Gender Consultant on Migration, Minority and Roma and Sinti Issues
Closing date: 22 Aug 2012
Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
Background:
Please note that this is a consultancy assignment for maximum 20 days duration starting on 5 September 2012 until 5 November 2012. The consultancy will be home based, but travel to Vienna and Warsaw is required.
The Gender Section is mandated to support the implementation of the 2004 Action Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality (GAP), by which the participating States have committed themselves to promoting gender equality, empowering women and combating discrimination in the OSCE area.
It has been acknowledged by a number of international and OSCE documents that gender equality and the full integration of women in all spheres of society can essentially contribute to security, democracy and prosperity. This is equally or even more true for women in migrant, minority and Roma and Sinti communities, who can essentially contribute to faster inclusion and social integration of the whole community.
